Welcome Picnic

Last Friday night we had a fantastic ‘Welcome Gathering’ evening with many SSPS families and staff supporting this, which is our first school community event for the year. The weather was perfect and the whole evening had a very relaxed feel about it. The students and teachers enjoyed the activities that were organised by Mr Kenez. Thank you to everyone for making it such a great event.

Aerobics

Aerobics is in full swing, with the teams coming each morning before school and at lunchtime for training. Our new trainers, Bree and Georgia from Action Sport Aerobics have settled in extremely well and have said how much they are enjoying their new roles at Syndal South.

We are looking forward to seeing the teams develop through their rigorous practice schedule as they work towards the competitions.

Mud Kitchen

On Tuesday at the School Council meeting, the Council approved the ‘Mud Kitchen’ project which had been proposed by Tahni Ross on behalf of the Foundation Team late last year. The ‘mud kitchen’ will be built outside the Foundation rooms. Monies raised from the ‘Campout’ in November last year will be used to fund this project.

Student Conferencing Tables

The teachers in Foundation to Year 2 are extremely excited about their new purpose-built tables. These tables lend themselves to a small group or individual students, comfortably working directly with the teacher, once again locally raised funds have been utilised to purchase these great resources.

Working Bee

Finally, please keep the date free, we have our first ‘Working Bee’ for 2020 on Sunday 22nd March from 9.00am to 11.00am. Some of the tasks we have planned are planting up the vegetable garden, light tree pruning, sweeping, cleaning the sand pits. As usual, we will conclude each working bee with a BBQ where parents can mingle and get to know others.

Have a great week!
