Winton Cluster News

As the term comes to a close, we are called to reflect on the events that have passed by us, as I still find myself questioning how it was possible for term 1 to have flown by so quickly!
As you may have seen, the Winton board is near completion! Though there are some extra
feathers to add here and there, the spirit of the board represents our college theme, ‘Soar like an eagle’ . I would like to thank you all for your contribution to the board and likewise the help of all tutor leaders, it is very much appreciated!”
I would also like to make a huge thank you to all the Winton students as well as teachers and staff for their contribution to the Ash Wednesday fundraiser! All proceeds go to a worthy cause, that is those who need it the most in the Philippines.
Reminder’s that though the Ash Wednesday fundraiser has past by, we are still collecting
donations through the Caritas boxes, each of which can be located within your homeroom or with your homeroom teacher! As we are a cluster encouraging respect, stewardship and creativity, their is also a reminder that the drawing club is held in student services every Monday at lunchtime, where students can enjoy drawing, art and meeting with other artists. Likewise upcoming event’s do include the easter vigil which will be held on the 30th of March as well as ANZAC day next term on the 24th of April.
I encourage all everyone to keep up the good work through the fundraising we have already
contributed with as there is more to come in the year! Finally i would like to wish everyone a safe term holidays, Happy Easter and fresh start to term 2!

Winton Sport News:
As Term 1 Cluster Sports is coming to a close, Winton can consider themselves unlucky to not get a spot in the Grand Final. Coming in equal third, Winton just fell short of playing the undefeated Chang. Although some may be disappointed, the effort everyone put in was applaudable. After a loss, Winton was able tot redeem their poor performance and play at their best the following weeks. In order to continue their gradual success, Winton must strive to participate to their best and also aim to pick up those Cluster Spirit points. Winton, the upcoming powerhouse, are looking to set their sights on the next term Cluster Sport.
