Environment Week

11-15 September 2017

Environment Week: 11-15 September 2017

We have a fun week of activities to celebrate Enviro Week and contribute to improving our environment.

Monday 11 September: Back to Basics Day with no electricity or technology. It will also be a Gold coin donation free dress day with a touch of green. Money raised will assist us to establish a new vegie garden out behind the Level 1 building.

Tuesday 12 September: Nude Food Day. Lunch boxes are not to contain wrappers and we will also have a whole school rubbish pick up. (http://www.nudefoodday.com.au)

Wednesday 13 September: Clothes Recycling. We have chosen to support the Salvation Army and families are encouraged to recycle their old clothes by bringing them to school. Last year we covered a large portion of the oval with our blanket donations, this year it's T-shirts, jeans, shorts, jumpers, pants etc.. (http://salvosstores.salvos.org.au/donate/clothing-and-goods/)

Thursday 14 September: Vegie Patch construction and tree planting.

Friday 15 September:  Walk or Ride to School Day. Students are encouraged to walk or ride to school (with parents or walking school bus). Where you live too far from school, park the car further from school and walk the rest of the way. (https://www.walktoschool.vic.gov.au)

Teachers and students will also be encouraged to participate in Outdoor Classroom Day (https://outdoorclassroomday.com) at an appropriate time throughout the week.

More details closer to the day, but we are looking forward to a great week.
