The IRC celebrated Book Week 2017 on a large scale this year, with the theme “Escape to Everywhere”. We held a range of activities including: Book Week displays, writers in residence, inter House creative writing, spelling bee and quiz competitions.  The celebrations culminated with the staff morning tea and book character/multicultural dress up day.  One of the highlights of the celebrations was “Write-a-book-in-a-day” challenge which involved groups of students collaborating to write a book in 12 hours to raise funds for Kids Cancer Project.

The Book Week celebrations play a major role in encouraging the students to develop a love of books and of reading and writing to further enhance their literacy skills and at the same time to develop celebration and multicultural understanding.

The photos below show the students and staff participation in the activities during Book Week celebrations at the school.
