2023 Parents & Friends Committees(Junior and Senior School)

The St Virgil’s College Parents and Friends Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Tuesday evening at the Austins Ferry Campus.

The Junior and Senior Committees look forward to working closely during 2023 planning and hosting various events across both campuses including the annual Easter Raffle, Mothers’ Day Breakfast, College Mary Rice Day Lunch, Teachers’ Dinners, Fathers’ Day Breakfast BBQ/Gift Stall, College Online Auction and College Christmas Raffle.

2023 Senior P&F Easter Raffle

The Senior School Parents and Friends Association are seeking chocolate donations from students (one per family) to support this year’s Easter Raffle.

 

Donations can include all types of chocolate (white, milk, dark, bars, blocks, Easter favourites) and can be handed in to Reception or your son's Pastoral Care teacher at Austins Ferry.

 

The College is a nut aware school, and we request that chocolates remain wrapped and are handed in as soon as your son arrives to school. Please note that prizes may contain nuts.

Winners will be announced via St Virgil's College Facebook page. Prizes will be available for collection from 3:15pm between Monday April 3 and Thursday April 6.

 

Funds raised from this year’s Easter Raffle will continue to support student opportunities, various school project initiatives and 10% donated to Caritas.

Senior P&F Teachers’ Dinner - Volunteers

On Monday April 24, the Senior P&F will provide dinner for over 40 teaching staff as part of the parent / student/ teacher interviews day. 

 

The Senior School Committee are seeking volunteers to assist with:

 

4.00 pm – 5.30 pm

Food preparation

 

5.30 pm – 6.00 pm

Serve dinner

 

6.00 pm – 6.30 pm

Clean and pack up

 

Parents, carers and SVC students are very welcome to join the volunteer team and enjoy a meal at the end of the evening. Students are eligible to earn service points.

 

If you are available to assist, for any period of time between 4.00 pm and 6.30 pm,  please visit the SVC Parents & Friends Association web page to register your interest.

Mary Rice Day Lunch - Volunteers

On Friday June 30, as part of the annual College Mary Rice Day, over 900 students and staff will be treated to a portion of a traditional African ‘Maharagwe Mchele Mkate’ (bean rice bread) dish. 

 

The dish is prepared in the Food Tech kitchen by a team of College staff, P&F members and volunteers, and served at lunch time across two stations.

 

The P&F are seeking volunteers to assist with food preparation, cooking, set up, serving and pack up. 

 

Volunteers require a current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
