FE	Byron Scukovic	Perseverance	Congratulations to Byron, who has shown perseverance in Foundation E. Byron has demonstrated excellent work ethic by focusing on classroom tasks and trying his best. Well done, Byron!
FK	Iylah Williams	Kindness	It has been wonderful to see Iylah show so much kindness to her classmates in Foundation K. She will always make sure she can find a way, if someone is upset, to make them happy again. Well done, Iylah!
1A	Autumn Cobban	Love of Learning	Autumn is very dedicated to her learning. She is a conscientious student who always produces her best work. Autumn listens intently to teacher instruction and works independently at her table applying herself 100 percent to all set tasks. An excellent start to the year Autumn!
1H	Elly Wheat	Creativity	Elly did a wonderful job using adjectives in her writing last week. She described her monster as having a ‘funny face’ and being ‘nice and soft’. Elly made phonetic attempts when spelling unknown words and even applied the new sounds we have learnt so far this year. Super effort Elly!
1J	Harper Ring	Enthusiasm for Learning	Harper has shown a keen interest in embracing her learning as much as she can. She is always one of the first to listen to instructions, complete her task and help others with their work. Thanks for the great start to Grade 1 Harper!
2H	Marcus Schiffner	Love of Learning	Marcus has thrown himself into our reading and maths activities this week. In particular when learning about naming, ordering and expanding five digit numbers. Marcus should be very proud of the work he has produced. Keep it up!
2P	Edith Bacon	Love of Learning	Thank you Edith for always sharing thoughtful ideas and experiences with the class, particularly in History! You have shown such passion and excitement, keep up the great work!
2S	Quinn Chand	Bravery	Congratulations Quinn for demonstrating bravery this week. Quinn is working on getting himself ready for learning in the morning and should be proud of the courage he shows. Well done Quinn!
3B	Max BEll	Teamwork	Max displayed excellent group work skills during class Reading, Writing and Inquiry cooperative activities. He listened to his team members, and he encouraged and supported them to achieve the group’s goals. It is fabulous to see the positive impact his wonderful attitude has on the class. Well done Max!
3M	Zoey Murrell	Love of Learning	What a fantastic start Zoey has made to Year 3! She demonstrates a love of learning daily, by eagerly contributing and always giving her best effort. Zoey is to be congratulated for the way she embraces challenges with enthusiasm and a growth mindset. Thank you for sharing your positive attitude and getting us all excited to learn each day!
3T	Cora Stuart	A Love of Learning	What a delight it is to have Cora in 3T. She always listens carefully to teacher instruction and works independently on her tasks. Cora is responsible during partner work and is always seeking to gain a clear understanding of a concept or topic. Keep it up Cora!
4H	Charlie Biggs	Creativity	Charlie displayed incredible creativity in his writing last week, crafting amazing sentences with great vocabulary and upgraded verbs. Keep up the fantastic work, Charlie.
4Z	Yvie Jones	Teamwork	Yvie was a superstar at the House Swimming Sports last week. She had a great attitude and swam her heart out. Yvie even stepped up and raced in the age group above because they were short a person. What a great teammate you are Yvie!
5D	James Thalas	Bravery	James has shown enthusiasm when volunteering to read out loud to the class during our Novel Study sessions. He has been able to demonstrate his fluency and reading strategies when tackling new, challenging vocabulary.
5T	Abby Marshall	A Love of Learning	Abby approaches all learning tasks with a positive attitude and enthusiasm. She is well organised and works diligently to complete her work. Abby happily and actively participates in class discussions. Well done Abby - keep it up!
6B	Sebastian Mitropoulos	Kindness	Sebastian has made a wonderful start to Year Six, demonstrating our classroom values regularly. He shows kindness to both his peers and teacher through selfless actions around the classroom. He is also an active listener, contributing his ideas and thoughts often during class discussions. 6L	Chris Baker	A love of learning	Chris has led the way during learning sessions to begin the year. He always shows fantastic interest in what we are learning in class while also demonstrating exemplary respect for all of his classmates. A brilliant start to the year Chris, well done!

FA	Annabelle Moore	Leadership	Annabelle always lights up the classroom with her vibrant personality and it was no wonder she had everyone engaged when presenting her very first Show and Share to the class. We all loved hearing about your favourite items Annabelle and are very lucky to have such a positive role model in our class. Looking forward to your next presentation!
FK	Jack Carey	Love of Learning	Jack should be so proud of the amazing start he has had to Foundation. He makes a huge effort to learn so well, producing wonderful work. Jack enjoys being part of the class discussions and often shares some interesting facts. Well done, Jack!
1A	Sage Whitmore	Perseverance	Sage approaches his work with great positivity. He is always willing to have a go at all tasks and tries his hardest even if a task can be challenging for him. Sage has shown wonderful perseverance in reading and writing. His confidence in these areas is growing every day! Keep up the terrific work Sage!
1D	Hugo Solimo	Perseverance	Hugo has been showing wonderful perseverance and determination this week during Literacy sessions. He was able to isolate the sounds in words and blend them together when reading. I have been so impressed with his approach to his learning. Keep up the wonderful work Hugo!
1H	Anna Brantner	Love of learning	Anna has had a wonderful start to Year One. She is always working extremely hard to produce her best work and contribute to all class discussions. During one of our writing lessons last week she did a wonderful job identifying nouns and verbs explaining why they are important elements of a sentence. Great job Anna, keep up the fantastic work.
1J	Darcy Lee	Leadership	As a Handy Helper this week in 1J Darcy has demonstrated excellent leadership in helping around the classroom. He has set a great example for his fellow classmates. Keep up the great work Darcy!
2H	Thomas Overell	Creativity	Thomas wowed the class this week with his creativity. He wrote and illustrated a gripping story which also showcased his wide knowledge of bugs and insects. Amazing job Thomas!
2P	Charlotte Foster	Love of Learning	Charlotte continually shows her passion and excitement for Mathematics. She shares her thinking and is persistent in the subject, demonstrating her strong growth mindset. She should be extremely proud of her positive, can-do, attitude!
2S	Eva Riscalla	Creativity	Eva wowed the class this week with her amazing story about our noun town! She included all the key features of a narrative story and created some terrific 3D nouns to add to our class poster. Well done Eva!
3B	Charlie Rolls	Bravery	Charlie has displayed incredible bravery in his move from Sweden to Australia. He has settled into school and class routines exceptionally well and has worked hard on his writing of narrative and persuasive texts, fluency reading and math tasks. Keep up the fantastic work, Charlie.
3M	Harlan Bourke	Creativiy	Harlan showed fantastic creativity when writing his ‘spooky’ narrative. He carefully planned his ideas using a plot rollercoaster. Harlan created great suspense and thrilling visualisations for his readers through using descriptive language, such as ‘the terrified boys slowly crept up the stairs’. I can’t wait to see what ‘Author Harlan’ has install for us with his next story!
3T	Jasper Pennell	A Love of Learning	Jasper has been working extremely hard on his narrative writing this week. His story began with a ‘Sizzling Start’, and he was able to use ambitious vocabulary to build suspense and tension. Jasper also used onomatopoeia and dialogue to progress his story and make it interesting to the reader. Well done Jasper, I can’t wait to read the finished product!
4H	Christina Whitehead	Curiosity	Christina displayed excellent listening skills during our Indigenous Incursion. She asked thoughtful questions and correctly identified the artistic symbol for women in a painting! Very impressive, Christina.
4Z	Justin Lim	A Love of Learning	Justin always shows enthusiasm when learning. He is a great listener and is always willing to share his knowledge with the class. Justin can be trusted to help us understand any unknown words, particularly when related to nature. Thank you Justin! We are lucky to have you in 4Z.
5L	Mila Tehan	Bravery	Mila has made such a wonderful transition into Grade 5 at BRPS. Moving schools can be tricky, however Mila has embraced every opportunity at Black Rock so far. Mila has made some great new friends and participated in all school activities with enthusiasm, even joining our basketball team without knowing anyone and swimming in the district competition.Well done Mila, we are so happy to have you here!
5T	James Rietman	Leadership/A Love of Learning	James is to be commended and celebrated for always displaying our Year 5 values of Trust, Integrity, Forgiveness and Compassion. He is a committed and diligent student who manages his time effectively. James is highly motivated and is interested in all areas of the curriculum. He treats all students with kindness and respect. You are an excellent role model for all students James!
6B	Meelia He	Leadership	In her role as Buddy Captain, Meelia planned and prepared a wonderful lesson for the Year Six and Foundation students. She designed an excellent scavenger hunt and explained the rules clearly and confidently. Well done Meelia, I look forward to your next buddy lessons!
6L	Ava Paterson	Sporting Excellence	Ava has demonstrated incredible determination and drive to achieve outstanding results in both the House and District Swimming competitions. It is quite an achievement to place first in four separate events at Districts, a target that Ava set for herself to achieve. Amazing work Ava and good luck at Divisions!
6M	Spencer Foster	Perseverance	Congratulations Spencer from 6M, for showing perseverance. Throughout the week you have been met with some challenges and you have still done all you can to solve the problems and seek help when needed. Well done!
