Thursday 6th April - Colour Fun Run, End of Term BBQ, Last day of term 2.30pm finish

Friday 7th April - Good Friday

Term 2 Curriculum Days

I have sought School Council approval to hold our Term 2 Curriculum Day and Teacher Professional Learning Days on

  • Monday 24th April (first day beck of Term 2)
  • Friday 9th June (Friday before King's Birthday weekend)

Given a lot of our families will be taking extended long weekends with ANZAC Day on Tuesday 25th April, and then backing the second date onto the long weekend, we felt these dates will have the least impact on student wellbeing and learning.

By holding our Teacher Professional Learning Day as a whole staff, the school saves on trying to find and pay Casual Release Teachers (CRTs) on these days.

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday to the following students who celebrated their birthday this week or over the school holidays

Nilah (5/6B)

Kaylee (5/6A)

Mikayla (5/6A)

Jaxon (3/4A)

Dakota (3/4C)

Zoe (3/4A)

Fun Run this Thursday

Our Colour Fun Run will be held this Thursday, commencing around 1.15pm. Students will run laps on the school oval for around 30 minutes. Parents are very welcome to come along and help throw the colour, slim and water, or take part in the run themselves.

Once completed, students will return to their classes to pack up and get ready for a 2.30 dismissal.

Students are encouraged to wear or bring a white, or light coloured, t-shirt.

All sponsorship must be finalised by Thursday and prize selection should be completed ASAP after the event, allowing for prizes to arrive early Term 2.

Casual Clothes, BBQ and Early Finish

Just a reminder that Thursday is a casual clothes day. Students are reminded to dress appropriately for the weather conditions, including footwear.

P&F will be running their end-of-term BBQ, therefore, the canteen is closed on Thursday. All orders for the BBQ were due yesterday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.

Lastly, school finishes at 2.30pm on this day.

ANZAC Day Parade

The school will be marching with other community groups on ANZAC Day, with our school captains representing our school at the wreath laying ceremony.

All students are invited to walk with the school. We ask that students are in their school uniform. Once we arrive at the service, students will need to either sit/stand with the teachers or be with their parents. We can not have students playing out the back unsupervised.

A XUNO message will be sent out during the second week of the holidays with all the details.

From the Principal

I would like to thank our students, staff and families for a great start to 2023. We have had a very busy term of learning and experiences, allowing the term to go very quickly.

Last Tuesday, we had 43 students represent the school at the District Athletics.  We had a number a students produce their personal bests and some will also progress onto the next level of athletics, later in the year.

Last Thursday, we took around 95 students to the Melbourne Grand Prix. It was a wonderful day for the students, parents and teachers. Even with an extra early start to the day and late return, the excitement of the day was still very high on Friday, with students talking about their highlights for the day.

A huge thanks to the staff and parents who came along and made it a wonderful day for the students.

This week we have held our Term 1 Parent / Teacher interviews. This has been a great opportunity for parents to speak to their child's teacher around how they have settled into the school year, look at learning goals for the year and discuss how parents can support learning at home. If you were unable to attend interviews and would still want to chat to your child's teacher, please make contact early next term to arrange a time.

I want to wish all families a very Happy Easter and hope you spend some quality time with families and friends.

Enjoy the mid-semester holidays and we will see you back at school on Wednesday 26th April.
