Dear HPS Community,

Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Update

Across our school, our teachers have been working on teachers' norms when teachers meet to collaborate regarding student outcomes in curriculum areas and wellbeing. Please note that next term, teachers will be engaging in our first Inquiry Improvement Cycles for students in the area of Writing as the school continues with the Professional Learning Community initiative. 

Dogs Connect

Last year we partnered with Dogs Connect and introduced a wellbeing dog to our school. We trained a core group of staff in the program and worked on policy and risk assessment. We essentially got our school environment ready for a dog to be on the grounds during the school day. We communicated with students, staff and families and, in particular, we asked families to complete a survey about the HPS wellbeing dog. We would encourage our new families to HPS in 2023 or those unable to complete the survey last year to participate in the Wellbeing Dog survey via the link below. This information assists us as we prepare for Duke to be onsite in Term 2.​If you have any further questions regarding the wellbeing dog at HPS please contact myself via email or see me before or after school at the school gate.
