Alpine School News

Please see below an update from the students at Alpine School.

To everyone back at Altona College,

Zoe, Kai, Izak, Aimee, Findlay, Jarrah and I have been having lots of fun up at the Alpine School. We cannot believe it's been five weeks since we arrived! It’s going so fast and will probably continue to fly by, especially now that visiting weekend is over.

Our highlights have been mountain biking, going on expo and making new friends. As well as hikes and our fun day at Mt Buffalo where we went abseiling!  We’ve also been learning about teamwork and how to be leaders in our communities. There are a lot of opportunities to step up and take charge, which is great at building our collaboration skills. Though there are times it gets tough and we want to quit (like when we’re hiking up a big hill) we’re all really supportive and help each other, which has been amazing at getting us together as a group.

Our Expo group is Feathertop, and we’re paired with Edenhope, a country school on the South Australia border. Meeting year 9's from all around Victoria is quite cool, and we get to learn about their similarities and differences between our homes.

Thanks,

Zelda and the rest of the Alpine crew.
