Principal's Desk

From Mr Mati Azadzoi

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Last week our Grade 3 and 5 students kicked off with their NAPLAN tests. All of our students did an awesome job completing their tests. This week we have Language Conventions and Numeracy! To support the momentum, NAPLAN breakfast was provided to all students; up and go’s, bananas and muesli bars to fire up before each test.

Our kids did a fantastic job during interschool Sport this week. We played Basketball against Orchard Park Primary School. Our students managed to defeat and make some wins. Well done to them!

Our school Review process is now complete. I’d like to thank all the parents who directly contributed towards this process. We now have a draft Strategic Plan ready to inform the direction of the school over the next 4 years. I would also like to thank the leadership team for participating and helping inform the direction including all staff who were directly/indirectly involved in the focus groups. I will summarise some of the key focuses in the next key emails via Compass.

On a side note, please be reminded that we have received a number of complaints regarding some parents continuously parking in the disabled parking areas across the school. If your family does not have a parking permit please ensure that you allow the parking space for members who are genuinely allowed to park in those areas. We would like to respectfully adress this matter without parents having to resort to authorities.

Harmony Day was a sensational day. Students got the opportunity to learn about the cultures of their peers, have a go at speaking different languages and share a bit about  special things in their cultures. Well done students and staff.

REMINDERS/ANNOUCEMENTS

Congratulations to PJ R and Lisa W for successfully filling in the Parent Representative roles for school Council.

Very shortly we will be seeking an expression of interest for a Working Bee to take place at Officer Primary School. We are currently looking for arrange of experts to help assist with some of the facilities work. More information will be communicated shortly to the school community.
