Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

COLOUR RUN

Well done to our whole school community for organising and participating in another fabulous colour run. The students, teachers and parents had a great time being involved in the event and the colours on the oval, the smiling faces and the whole school participation was the highlight.

A huge thank-you must go to the WPPA for organising the colour run. It takes a lot of work and with other activities in the pipeline they have been outstanding in their support of our school and students.

Also to staff members, particularly Cherine Owen, who worked tirelessly to organise the event a big thank-you.

Well done to all students and families for organising sponsorship to raise valuable funds to support our school. Our priority is to build a new outdoor basketball/netball court which our school desperately needs. We've raised over $6000 but we would still appreciate more donations. These can be done through Compass tix and  the school office.

YEAR 2 CAMP PORT FAIRY - 22ND to 23RD MARCH 2023

The excitement is building as the Year 2 students and their teachers and support staff make final preparations for their camp to Port Fairy. Dale Beane and Jarryd Lewis have organised a great program for the children. They will experience independence which is vital in their development. It may be the first time away from home for some students but they will overcome any fears and get involved in the fun activities. Thank-you to all parents/carers for supporting our school camp programs.

NAPLAN 2023

The NAPLAN program has commenced this week for Year 3 and Year 5 students. Please talk to your children about this as they negotiate each of the tests. They are all on-line with the exception of Year 3 writing.

Where children are absent on the prescribed day they will be offered an opportunity to sit a make-up test. There is a 12 day window, 15th to 27th March 2023 inclusive.

All students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 across all schools in Australia are participating in this program unless exempt (disability), withdrawn (parent choice) or absent across the window.

Please be reminded that while the Department of Education and Training uses this data to inform whole school, region and state performance it is a one off test and the best way to develop your understanding of your child’s progress is to contact your child’s teacher.
