Student Wellbeing Report

Term One was a very busy term, busier than anticipated with many students accessing student wellbeing support and programs. In addition to providing pastoral care and counselling support, the team has been running weekly therapeutic group programs, and engaging in recess and lunch time group activities.
Programs
The PEERS program has been an engaged program from our students and below is some student feedback:
“The PEERS program has helped me to improve my relationships at home and at school.”
“I have learnt how to manage my emotions and deal with problems without getting physical.”
In addition to supporting our students, the Student Wellbeing team also engaged with the Children and Parenting Support Service (CaPSS) to run “Tuning into Teens”, a 6-session parenting education program, for our parents. The program ended on March 28th and below are some quotes from the facilitators and parents who participated:
“We had an amazing turn out and have been getting some really nice and positive feedback from parents who have been attending the sessions each week”. Neha & Sandra (program facilitators)
“We as parents loved the in-person group session with Neha and Sandra. They have been very kind and patient in listening to our concerns, our stories, and responded as coordinators. We could connect with other parents at an emotional level. We would love more of these sessions to help us navigate the parenting journey”. (parent)
“My parenting style has changed now, I feel good that my kids come to me for anything, I feel good not stressful anymore. Even kids notice changes in me . Thanks to Neha and Sandra . Happy to do or attend more courses like that💕🙏”. (parent)
Given the success of “Tuning into Teens”, the College is looking at working with CaPSS to run more parenting programs for our parents in the future. Other options include Tuning in to Kids, and Dads Tuning in to Kids.
