This Term in Grade 3,

We have been learning to represent place value in multiple ways. When you look at different numbers, you can see how many digits it contains, however these digits have a value it represents. When you have the number 78; 7 signifies 7 lots of ten and the number 8 means 8 lots of ones. We have been working in using various numbers increasing in its place value, ranging from 2 digit all the way to 6 digit numbers; exploring place values of ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands. We have explored, identified, and represented numbers with MAB blocks, within place value charts, as digits, written form and expanded form. We then using these acquired skills learn how to rename numbers in different ways.

We have loved exploring and learning about place value this term and we all can’t wait to apply this knowledge to our next terms unit of addition and subtraction.

On Friday the 24th of March 112 Grade 6 students represented Wyndham Vale Primary School at the Wyndham District Summer Gala Day.

Students participated in various summer sports such as Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Cricket and Softball at many locations across the Wyndham District.

The Summer Gala Day was a huge success with our students competing to the best of their ability in all sports. The students had a great day competing against other schools in the district engaging in friendly competition whilst learning new skills, in a team environment.

We would like to congratulate all students who participated in the Summer Gala Day, and we would like to thank all staff and volunteers who made the day possible.

Hello Wyndham Vale PS Community,

Harmony Day is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Thank you all for participation and enthusiasm in celebrating the cultural diversity of our wonderful community. It was fantastic to see so many students, educators and families celebrating Harmony Day by dressing in their cultural clothing and engaging in a range of Harmony Day events and activities.

                                                             Road Safety:

Wyndham Council have contacted us to inform us they will be patrolling our school area due to the large number of complaints they have received regarding dangerous driving, parking across drive ways and on the nature strips as well as the school crossings  not being used.

We are asking that you are vigilant at all times and role model for our students the following:

Cross at the school crossings

Do not park on the nature strip

Do not park across our neighbors driveways and block them

Do not double park to drop children off/pick them up

Do not speed, be aware of your speed and the speed limit during school hours

Pedestrians are to give way to vehicles at round abouts.

It is everyone's best interest to keep the students safe and be respectful to those around you.
