House Swimming Carnival

The House Swimming Carnival for 2023 was held on Thursday 16 March at Noble Park Aquatic Centre.  With warm, sunny weather and excited students, the Carnival could only be a success.

Our Year 12 cohort made their last swimming carnival memorable by dressing up in their House colours and encouraging all year levels to support the competitors.

There were some students paying homage to some familiar faces.

The first events covered 50 metres while the remainder were 25 metres long.  There were a number of close finishes and all competitors put in a tremendous effort.

The annual Staff vs Year 12 students race was won by Mr Elio Bagnara from the Facilities team.  As always, the Year 12 'race' was more about fun than speed or using a recognisable swimming stroke.

Non swimmers had the chance to participate in other activities during the day, including soccer and basketball.  Swimmers were invited to use the water slide after their races.

Knox House won the House Spirit award for the most supporters attending the Carnival.

Knox also won the Intermediate House Cup, with MacKillop winning the Junior House Cup

and McCormack finishing with the Senior House Cup.  Lucas Dinh (Year 7 MK2) won the Nazareth Classic (an all ages race between the best competitors of the day).

The overall winners were MacKillop, their first Swimming Carnival Trophy this century!

Congratulations MacKillop!!

A big thank you to the staff who organised the Carnival and those who helped on the day.

We would like to especially acknowledge Mr Chuck Chan, Sports and Academy Coordinator. Ms Tenille Kirk, the Facilites Team, Mr John Brenton, Ms Kate Shea and Denzel Machado(Year 12 MC5) for assisting with set up and take down, our Emcee Ms Romy Bilu, DJ Mr Jason Robert and our starters, Ms Donna Watts and Ms Sue Formanek.
