Personal Property

Parents / guardians and students should be aware that personal property brought to school is not covered by the College or Department of Education and Training does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage.  Personal property is often brought to school by students, staff and visitors.  This can include mobile phones, calculators, toys, sporting equipment and cars parked on school premises.  Students are discouraged from bringing any unnecessary or particularly valuable items to school.

Accidents

The Department and College do not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students. Parents and guardians are generally responsible for paying the cost of medical treatment for injured students, including any transport costs. Student accident insurance / ambulance cover policies are available from some commercial insurers, and can be obtained by parents/guardians for individual students.

Student Safety

The College applies all elements of the Child Safe Policies which are available on our website policy page. Our strict policies require all visitors to sign into the office.  Staff, tradespeople, volunteers etc. are required to provide current Working with Children's Checks.

To further maintain safety, our College car park is not available for use by parents or senior students as a pick up / drop off zone. Indiscriminate vehicular access by parents increases traffic congestion and places students at risk.

Money brought to school

If a student has to bring money to school for contributions, excursions, camps etc, it should be paid directly to the General Office before school.  The General Office is open for this purpose between 8.30am and 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Fridays.  Students may also have their payments accepted at recess, lunchtime and after school.

This process minimises the opportunity for forms or payments to be misplaced while students can also be issued with a receipt.
