A message from Emily

Dear Parents and Carers

What a wonderful start to the school year. It has been amazing to have children back at school and learning with their peers and educators face-to-face. This year promises to provide opportunities to reconnect with each other in person as well as online.

The start of the year has been different to those in the past but it has been one of new beginnings. I have experienced first hand the love and joy this community engulfs new people in as they are welcomed to be a part of something very special. We have a number of new people who have joined the St John's community this year and we are looking to add more! Our focus this year is to reconnect with one another and use funding we have received to provide additional measures for your child's wellbeing and growth as a learner. The last two years has been tough on us all, particularly children, so we are planning to make 2022 memorable not just because it is our 100th year but one where children are excited about coming to school to discover, create and innovate. 

MEET & GREET

Over the last fortnight parents had the opportunities to chat with one of their child's educators as a 'Meet and Greet' online. This provided a time to introduce families to new staff or meet educators for the first time. We hope that you were able to share information with your child's educator in order for them to support your child the best way they can. If you missed the opportunity to make a booking, you are welcome to contact the school and one of your child's educators can give you a call to chat on the phone.

PREP 2023 TOURS

Next week we begin our enrolment process for Prep 2023 with the first of our School Tours. Perspective families are invited to tour our school and see the children engaging in learning at St John's to see what a school day looks like in our community. Adults attending these tours will be required to wear a mask and present evidence of their vaccination status to enter the school buildings. Prep Tours will be on the following days and times:

WELCOME PICNIC

The idea is to have families bring along their own picnic and then socialise with others from our St John's community. We have tentative date for our 'Welcome Picnic' on Wednesday 16th March. We will confirm this date in the next newsletter. We also provide further information on how this picnic will work so that we can maintain a  COVID safe event for the health and safety of all. All families will be invited to attend our Welcome Picnic.
