I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable winter break and are all feeling refreshed and ready for what is shaping up to be an exciting term.
It is great to see our students returning to school in their navy and red uniforms. Don't forget that part of our uniform is a navy beanie which you can purchase from Kmart, Target etc. If you would like a super warm one with the school logo, they can be purchased at the school office for $10.
Please label all clothing items
We hope it never happens, but in the case of an serious accident and we believe an ambulance is needed we will call 000. We will, of course, try to make contact immediately with the parent. It would be advisable for all parents to check their cover so they are not landed with a bill for the service.
Thank you to all the staff and parents (Grades Prep, Grade 3,4,5 and 6) that participated in the last week of Term 2 interviews. Positive home-to-school partnerships are essential for the educational and well-being success of our children.
Parental engagement is essential in developing positive attitudes towards learning and education for children, building their motivation and confidence as learners, and fostering their enjoyment of learning so, we thank you.
This coming Monday (17th July) we will be conducting Parent/Teacher interviews for Grades 1 and 2. These grades were involved in the swimming program last term so could not participate in the interview program. Please log into COMPASS and select a timeslot. Remember it can be in person or via phone.
This Friday the school is closed for staff professional development. I am sorry that we could not tag the day onto a holiday, but we were only able to book the speaker this Friday as he has a very busy schedule. We have employed Michael Minas an educational consultant who is passionate about making maths more engaging for students. This should be a great chance to upskill all our teachers in teaching mathematics.
We would like to extend a warm welcome to some new Rollins staff. Brady Pritchard is now teaching Grade 3/4A until the end of this year. Matthew Hedin will now join the staff in Grade 2A until the end of this year. We sincerely welcome both members and know that they will contribute greatly to the Rollins culture.
This is our last "shout out" for Prep enrolments of students who are zoned in our area. As per the Departments timeline, enrolments are due by Friday 28th July. We will be sending out acceptances on 11th August.
The gates to the school are opened at 8.30am daily. Supervision of students in the yard starts at 8.45am. Between 8.30-8.45am parents are responsible for supervising their child. If you need assistance with supervision outside these times please contact Camp Australia.
Have a great weekend everyone
Jenny
