We would like to say a big thank you to the grade sixes for a wonderful term. It has been very busy so we hope you all enjoy a restful break over the next two weeks! We are looking forward to another fun semester!

Maths 

We have just finished a unit on angles. The students enjoyed working in pairs and small groups to complete open learning tasks. This week we have learnt about working out the size of angles in triangles, quadrilaterals and angles on parallel lines. 

We have also continued to practice our strategies to solve problems involving multiplication. One game the students have enjoyed playing is 'Multo'. We encourage the students to teach someone at home how to play this. 

Literacy 

We have been focussing on writing using a variety of sentence types. The students have been working hard on editing out unnecessary information and writing interesting sentences that flow. They have worked collaboratively on brainstorms, edited their own work and rewritten well known fairytales.
