Maths

Our focus has been on Patterns, within Algebra. We have used all sorts of shapes, symbols, materials and images to understand patterns more deeply. We used our number knowledge to try and crack the rule and explain it in our own way.

We have used Love Maths for a few of our Maths Blast games this week. Watch this clip on how we used the game Go Fish to consolidate our learning of doubles and near doubles. Have a play at home. You can create a challenge for yourself by including the King, Queen, Jack and Ace and making them more difficult numbers such as 13, 15 or even something like 27, 34.

Literacy

We have had great success in Literacy this week where our reading groups have showed great independent working skills. The children have worked in their groups focusing on their assigned task, completing what is required in the assigned time frame.

Their learning has been around inferencing, summarising and predicting whilst reading.

Anastasia came back from visiting Mr Steve with 2 Principal Award stickers and a huge smile on her face. She told us she was so happy with her stickers as she celebrate her successes this term. Well done Anastasia!!!

We hope everyone enjoys the holidays and we look forward to seeing you all nice and rested ready for a big Term 3.
