Out and About Learning

As part of the requirements for their Business Management studies, Year 12 students visited local company, Stoney Creek Oils, to see how they produce and market their goods. The Talbot-based business produces and sells edible oils and various types of meal. SCO Manager, Lisa, immediately engaged the students with an explanation of how the company began and their focus on sustainable practices, before giving us a tour of the facility and showing where and how the products are processed and packed. She went on to explain the importance of enforcing quality control and seeking to eliminate waste.

The tour was a fascinating insight for students and helped them gain an understanding surrounding some of the issues faced when running a business. Beaufort Secondary College would like to thank Stoney Creek Oils for their warm welcome and hospitality.
