Junior Joeys News

This fortnight in Junior Joeys, we have been super busy with Milo Mondays. Thank you for your support.

Milo Mondays will continue until the end of the term. In other exciting news, we would like to announce our next Caritas fundraising event. On the last day of term, Friday 30 June, we are hosting a PJ Day

PJ Day means students and staff can wear pyjamas to school! All you need to bring is a gold coin donation.

Closed-in shoes and school hats must be worn. And make sure you rug up - it’s winter!

Can’t wait to see everyone fresh out of bed!

Athletics Carnival information

Dear Parents and Carers,

All students will participate in our upcoming Athletics Carnival on Friday 28 July at Cook Oval.

This year, we will be holding the High Jump event a week beforehand at school on Thursday, 20 July. All other events will be held at Cook Oval. Please note that students aged 8 years and older will have the opportunity of gaining selection to represent our school at the ADPSC Athletics on 18 August in Tamworth.

Students will be required to be transported to Cook Oval by 8:50 am (supervision starts at 8:30 am) and collected by 3 pm. Forest Coach Lines will also transport students who usually take the bus to and from Cook Oval. This is an all-day event.

Students are required to wear their sports uniform (for both days), and are allowed to wear house colours at Cook Oval events. Please pack a hat, sunscreen, water bottle, snacks and lunch. Parents are welcome to attend.

Please note that if you are unsure about which sporting house your child is in, St Josephs (blue) or St Andrews (red), this can be found on their profile via Compass (by selecting/tapping their photo)

A track and field events timetable, as well as the schedule for High Jump held at school, will be communicated in the coming weeks.

As always, an event like this cannot be run successfully without the assistance of helpers. If you are able to volunteer to help out on the day as a timekeeper or with Discus, Long Jump or Shot Put (which would be greatly appreciated!), please go to bit.ly/43RsrVo. An invite will be sent to you via Compass closer to the date to confirm.

All volunteers will be provided with free Morning Tea and Lunch.

Please note that the canteen will be unavailable at Cook Oval. However, the St Joseph's P & F has organised with Palmer's Market for families to pre-order lunch, via an order form (communicated with families next week), and collect at the P & F lunch table between 11:30 am - 12 pm. The distribution of orders is the responsibility of the parent/carer attending the event, and it is not a school canteen order. Pre-orders close at 3 pm on Monday 24 July. All order forms are to be returned and paid at Palmer's Market prior to cut-off.

For further information and to accept/deny the event, access the Events page via your child’s profile on the Compass app, or, alternatively, go to https://stjosephsweewaa-nsw.compass.education/Organise/Activities/Events/ by Wednesday, 19 July.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
