What a week, what a wonderful week!

After 13 years of schooling it’s important that we acknowledge and celebrate the student’s hard work and determination, and celebrate we did!

Festivities began on Monday night with a BBQ dinner cooked by staff as the students ‘decorated’ the school. Tuesday arrived and we were here bright and early dressed up as a range of characters, Star Wars featured prominently and we were fortunate enough to have an appearance from KISS.

Teachers and students then enjoyed a lovely breakfast prepared by the Year 11 Hospitality class, a huge thank you to those students and staff who were at school extra early, to serve our Year 12s and teachers. Much laughter and reminiscing of good times occurred over scrambled eggs and bacon.

A quick walk through Junior School where the youngest members of BHCS squealed in delight as a T Rex, the Flash and Homer among many others walked their corridor.

We continued to celebrate and acknowledge the determination and hard work of our graduating class during the whole school assembly. A wonderful experience to have the whole school together, again laughing and rejoicing with our Year 12s. The resident BHCS Boy band ‘rocked out’ a few tunes and our Chaplain Nick Crawley aka Hulk Hogan encouraged the Year 12s to continue to wrestle with the big questions of life. I have no doubt that Nick’s shirtless body has left a lasting impression on all who were in attendance! Corporate prayer and the Avenue of Honour finished our assembly. A truly special way to farewell the Year 12s.

But that’s not all! The following evening saw us change out of crazy costumes and into more formal attire for the Valedictory Dinner. Again, laughter and some tears saw us celebrate with family and friends, 13 years of education. Speeches were both entertaining and honouring, finally when energy levels are falling, we hit the dance floor!

What a week! Thank you everyone who was involved in making the end of year celebrations so special, an absolutely wonderful way to farewell our Graduates of 2016.
