Carlsruhe Annexe /

Main Campus - Year 4

Well, here we are at the end of another term, and half way through the year. While it has in fact been a shorter term, it certainly hasn’t felt like it, especially with the bitterly cold Woodend/Carlsruhe weather well and truly setting in!

The heavy frost this week caused much excitement during jobs time out at Carlsruhe, which saw the chicken crew needing to add ‘ice smashing’ to their list of jobs in order for the chickens to be able to access their water! Students and teachers were amazed at how solid and heavy the ice was. The ice also turned some of the cubbies into igloos with ice forming around the outside of the cubbies.

The ‘Bag Area’ has also had an addition, with a new banner going up to welcome students to our special campus. This banner was sewn by the 2022 Year 4 students as part of their Activity Program. Some of you will remember the larger Carlsruhe Country Fair version that they also made, which adorned the front fence for the event.

In the classroom, we have been learning about information reports, and students have been solidly working away at producing their own information reports to demonstrate their knowledge about the issues caused by plastic pollution. We have also been reviewing our knowledge of 2D shapes and identifying the different types of angles.
