GIPPSLAND TECH SCHOOL

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Who would purchase a ‘Sibling Silencer’ or a smart watch that helped you communicate in social situations?  On Tuesday, students of 9B and 9C participated in the Gippsland Tech School’s ‘Make a Difference’ program and applied the Design Thinking process to come up with new innovations to everyday problems.  They started by interviewing a randomly selected partner to decide on a problem to solve, then rapidly ideated potential solutions. Using a range of technology of their choice, they designed prototypes of their solution. Every student then pitched their prototype to the group. It was fantastic to observe students developing innovative solutions in a short time and engaged in the process all day. Students can be very proud of themselves today after applying the Design Thinking process and presenting to their peers. A great day out for all.
