SCIENCE
YEAR 11 BIOLOGY
Year 11 Biology students completed a rat dissection as part of their studies. Students are exploring how animal systems function, specifically through cell specialisation and the organisation of animal cells into tissues, organs, and systems with specific functions (such as digestive, endocrine and excretory systems).
YEAR 9 SCIENCE
Students in Year 9 Science have been learning about Co-ordination and Control, Reflexes and Responses in plants and animals. As part of this topic, the Year 9’s dissected a lamb brain as it is very similar to a human brain. Doing a brain dissection is interesting to observe, first hand, the different parts of the brain and spinal cord, and identify which parts of the brain control particular functions in the human body.
