Year 11 and 12

Year 11 and 12s should attend as many Open Days at Universities as possible to gain an understanding of their chosen courses. Please see compass for Open Day information.

Subject Selection for Year 11 into Year 12 for next year is scheduled on Friday 26 July, 2019. Students must consider subjects that they are interested in and are required (prerequisities) for university or TAFE.

Year 10

The Year 10s completed Work Experience from Monday 24 June to Friday 28 June, 2019. The students went to a variety of places including CSIRO, PWC, 3AW, Ringwood Magistrates Court, Deakin University and the Epworth Hospital. Students were visited by teachers and the students gained a better understanding of the workplace.

Year 10s should attend as many Open Days at Universities as possible to gain valuable information about courses and to get an understanding of the campuses and how to access them.

Year 9

In Term 1, DET introduced a Career Program for all Year 9 students which is being rolled out across Victoria. The program includes a student career test and a 30 minute interview with a consultant to discuss the results of their career test.

Student interviews will finalised early in Term 3. Parents are very welcome to come to the interview with the Consultant and your child.

Dookie Day

Dookie Day showcases the University’s teaching, industry engagement, research and capabilities.

Visitors are able to discover the University’s agricultural and veterinary science courses, meet students and watch presentations, see new developments in agricultural research and technology and listen to seminars presented by scientific experts.

Tertiary Admission Centres | Application Open Dates 2019

If you’re wanting to apply for Uni starting in 2020, you might need to apply through a Tertiary Admission Centre (TAC), and you should start the process soon.

What is a TAC?

TACs are centralised processing institutions, set up to handle the large number of Uni applications each year. They’ll deal with your application and be the ones to let you know of any offers (unless you’re applying directly to the Uni).

If you’re applying for Uni, you’ll need an ATAR or OP ranking number. You’ll be notified of your ATAR result by the relevant TAC for your state.

Lots of Universities encourage applications through the TACs. As you can imagine it’s a whole lot easier for the Uni as they don’t have to wade through all the applications, process them and respond.

For some Universities you can only apply through the relevant TAC. Other Universities will allow you to apply directly to them,
