Term 3 Week 3
Lots of things are happening at school at the moment. We are organising a number of different events and learning opportunities for the children. Please also don't forget to read the Classroom News part of the newsletter to see what the students have been doing in class along with some photos.
Open Day
This Thursday is our open Day for any new families or children to come along and have a look at the school. The Open Day runs from 9.00 until recess on Thursday the 8th August.( next Thursday)- Flyer attached. If you know of anyone who might be interested in attending or dropping in for a look please let them know about this day.
Student led parent/ teacher/student interviews
On Monday the 5th August the student/parent/teacher interviews will be conducted. A note was sent out this week for parents to book times that suit. If you have not returned this note please do so by tomorrow so we can provide you with a time to attend. If you are unable to attend on that night please contact the teachers to make an alternative arrangement. The students have been working hard on developing their goals for future learning and providing evidence of their achievement so far this year. They would really like to share these with you so you can also help to achieve these goals.
Respectful relationships
Three of our Year 6 students helped run a respectful relationship day, at the Wangaratta High School, for around 70 Year 5 & 6 students from a number of schools in the Wangaratta district. The students Ivy O’Connor, Audrey Proft and Lily Shanley presented themselves very well and helped make the day very successful for all who attended.
The school is also planning to run a night on Respectful Relationships to inform the school community to talk about what this is. All families and students are invited to attend. The night is planned for Monday the 12th August where we will have a free BBQ and a quick presentation from the organisers of Respectful Relationships in the North East. This will start at 5.30pm and should be finished around 6.30pm. Please let Rick know if you are attending this evening or not, for catering purposes.
Ski Day
Please remember that the Ski Day is happening on the 16th August. Parents and older siblings are most welcome to come along. You do not have to ski if you don’t want to. Make sure that your child has Ski gear. If you need some extra clothing for the day there is a few things at school that can be borrowed.
Trivia Night
Just a reminder to get your table together and order your meals or platters for the trivia night on Friday 23rd August at the school. It has been a great fun night in previous years. If you are able to help in anyway please feel free to ask as their a number of different jobs to do.
