Principal's Report

Principal's Report

The term still has been a busy one with many events and activities being at the core of our work with the school community. All events sent a clear message that high expectations are set for all students and that the partnership between school and home is extremely important to help support each student.

Vision and Values

Our Vision and Values continue to be at forefront of our work. The College plans to shortly send out to all families a copy of our Vision and Values document that has resulted from our work in this area. New posters are in the process of being designed and distributed throughout the school. At our recent school assembly, I stressed the need for students to work with their teachers to achieve their highest level of learning that they can. Our school motto of ”Learn, Grow, Achieve Together” was emphasized, as were the values of respect, achievement and responsibility.

Swimming Carnival

The Annual Swimming Carnival was very successful. I was pleased to see many students participating and encouraging their teams. It was evident that both students and staff had an excellent day. I would like to acknowledge Ms Nicole Hardham, who organised the event with the support of the HAPE team and all the staff. Thank you to all our VCAL students, VCAL staff and Carmela Sant whose effort on the day raised a substantial amount close to $1100 dollars profit which they will allocate to a fund of their choice later on. Back at school, our Year 12 VCE students were busy working in their classes. We are continuing to minimize any disruptions to their learning program across the year.

Parent, Teacher, Student Interviews

Parent Teacher Student Interviews will be conducted in the second week of next term, on Tuesday 30th April 2019.  I encourage all parents to make a time to meet with your child's teachers.  Bookings can be made through Compass with your log-in details. Please contact the school if you have any difficulties.

Thank you to our retiring School Council President, Traci Bradley.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of School Council and the College community to thank and farewell our recently retired School Council President, Traci Bradley.

Traci has been on School Council for the last 8 years, with most of those as President.

Her contribution to this College moving forward has been enormous. The school today is very different compared to what it was 8 years ago. It is now more progressive and focused, doing its upmost to improve the outcomes of each and every student.

We are grateful for everything that Traci has done for the College and we wish her well in the future.

Finally, I would like to wish our students and families a happy and safe Easter.
