St Finbar's School Values

We have nine school values that are explored through out the year, and care and compassion is the one we are concentrating to start 2019. Please look at the School Values  and see how you can contribute to our community.

Peaceful Parents program

Angie Sloan, a member of the Australian Counselling Association, is running a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based group workshop. To support parents to build resilient and calm children.

Seesaw

Seesaw has been used at St Finbar's for a few years now and is a great way for to forge a link between home and school. So often we hear from parents that when asked what their children did at school that day, the reply is often, "Nothing" or "I can't remember." Seesaw can be used as a conversation starter about the learning that is taking place in the classroom. If you were connected to your child's account in 2018, you are automatically connected in 2019.  It is also possible to connect grandparents or other family members, contact class teachers for a QR code.  We love it when family members write comments about students' work as well.

Preps' First Day

There was much excitement on Tuesday morning as our new Prep students began their official school life. There were also some enthusiastic Year 5 Buddies who have been looking forward to welcoming their Prep buddies to St Finbar's.

Star of the Week

This year our Star of the Week award will take a different form from previous years. Next week you will receive a mini-poster, which you will be asked to complete at home stating five things that we may not know about your child.  This could be done as a family activity, and we are hoping to find out some new and interesting things about our students. This should be returned to school as soon as it is completed and will be displayed in the classroom the week of your child's Star of the Week award.

Celebration Week flowers

While they are no substitute for our much-missed Friendship Tree, the empty space has been filled with colourful flowers this week, created as part of our Celebration Week activities.  They are temporarily filling the space until our new tree arrives.
