PISA 2018

A number of Year 9 and 10 students have been selected to be involved in one of the international sample assessments of the the National Assessment Program (NAP), the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2018.

PISA assesses students’ skills and knowledge in reading, mathematics, science and financial literacy, providing both a national and international perspective. The results of PISA provide information towards monitoring how well young Australians are meeting important educational goals, assists in identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses in the Australian education system, allows the comparsion of student performance with other countries, and enables policymakers, researchers and teachers to learn from other education systems around the world.

In 2018, Australia will be one of about 80 countries participating in PISA.  The PISA assessment will be held on Wednesday 8 August commencing at 9am at Keilor Downs College.  All students who have received a letter from Mrs Katsoulakos are expected to participate in PISA.   They will receive a certificate of participation and a small gift.

Each participating student has an important role in representing all students in Australia. They will be making a valuable contribution to the education community both nationally and internationally.  For more infromation about PISA, please visit: www.acer.org/ozpisa.
