Health and Physical Education

PE & Health Week

PE & Health Week moved online for the first ever time this year. The event was held between August 31 - September 4, during the remote learning phase of Term 3. Adaptations were made to provide plenty of fun and engaging activities for students, families and staff to participate in.

The activities utilised apps such as HomeCourt for a variety of different physical activity challenges and Strava for the THS Running Club as well as completing the Sock Challenge and Footy Pie Night via videos and photos. There were also interactive, online activities posted on Google Meet to participate in, including the Cook Along with Mrs Collins where they made ‘Beautiful Bruschetta’, as well as different online fitness class options during the lunchtime breaks. The traditional Footy Day on the Friday of PE & Health Week was celebrated, with students and staff invited to wear their favourite footy colours to any Google Meet classes on the day.

The staff had a mix of pilates and fitness classes to get involved in, with the final activity of the week being the staff Sports Trivia to conclude the week’s celebrations.

House points were on offer for each activity, which provided rewards for their effort, as well as importantly building the THS team spirit. Congratulations to Saunders for getting the most house points!

Well done to everyone involved for making this unique PE & Health Week experience such a success.
