From the Principal

Sonja Mercer

Welcome to our School Newsletter for Week 3, Term 4.

Our beautiful year 12s have finished their final classes for the year. For some of them, this means the preparation for exams begins, and for others - it's time to dive into the adult world they've been tiptoeing slowly into. We farewelled these special people at an assembly last week, with a spectacular sendoff, including an original song composed by Mr Jeshurun Tan and Performed by Jeshurun Tan and Madi Butson.

I'd like to share some of my goodbye speech with you...

I still remember these amazing peoplein year eight and year seven transition – although they were quite a bit shorter, but just as noisy! Well done to you all – you had your eye on the prize and you stuck it out.

It’s been a hard year. Year 12 is hard, even under the best of conditions. But, you’ve had extra obstacles and you’ve tackled them with maturity and style.

Jaxon, Abe, Eli, Joel, Carlos, Ali, Angela and Hayden. We have loved every minute of having you here at PHS. It’s been fun, it’s been hard, it’s been silly and it’s been important. You have been important. Schools are made up of buildings, books, pencils, and people. And you will forever remain in the PHS history books as very important people.

Let me close with some words from one of my favourite doctors - Dr Seuss quote:

You have brains in year head

You have feet in your shoes

You can steer yourself any direction you choose

You’re on your own

And you know what you know

And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go.

You’re off to great places!

Today is your day!

Your mountain is waiting, so…

Get on your way!

Regards,

Sonja
