VCAA Examinations

With many of our senior students having already completed performance and language examinations, this week marked the beginning of VCAA examinations for the remainder of the cohort. It has been wonderful to hear of their positive experiences. Staff commented on how well prepared the English students were, and this was demonstrated in their calm attitudes as they arrived ready for the first of the written exams at the College on Tuesday 10 November.

We encourage students and families to carefully read the information that has gone home this week regarding additional procedures to ensure that our examinations are conducted in a COVID safe manner.

We wish students all the best as they complete the year and pray that this will be an opportunity for them to feel confident in knowing that they have done their very best to demonstrate their knowledge.

Year 10 and Year 11 Examinations

All Year 10 to Year 11 students have received information regarding their examinations. Given the circumstances of 2020 and the additional procedures in place this year due to COVID-19, examinations will operate a little differently to how they have in the past. Nonetheless we are confident that the experience will allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and that the opportunity will provide examination preparation for future VCAA examinations.

We wish students all the best in their final revision and preparations for their end of year exams.

Subject Selections

Students will soon receive notification of their allocated subjects for 2021. From next Wednesday 4 October we will post a change of subject request form on SIMON and provide students with a short window of opportunity to request subject changes in preparation for the 2021 school year. These forms will need to be completed and submitted to Student Reception by Monday 9 November.

I encourage all students to take this weekend to carefully consider their subject allocations as, unfortunately, late requests for changes will not be able to be accommodated.

Booklists

In line with our efforts to improve sustainability at the College and reduce our carbon footprint, Kilbreda has moved to online ordering for all booklists for 2021.

Families will be able to access the booklists from the Campion website. To access the Kilbreda portal, click on the Campion icon below which will take you to the login page.

The link can also be found on PAM in the ‘Booklist’ folder or on the College website under the Enrolment menu, ‘Uniforms and Books’.

The Campion portal is now open and accepting orders. More details regarding booklists can be found in the letter that was emailed to families this week.

Sustainable School Shop

The Sustainable School Shop is an externally operated website that provides families with the opportunity to sell and source second hand textbooks. Many textbooks used here at the College in different year levels can be sourced from this site.

Families who would like to make the most of buying and selling second hand texts are encouraged to register with the Sustainable School Shop website at
