ASK Sharemarket Trading Game

On Thursday 27 August, 48 students signed up to take part in the 'ASX Sharemarket Trading' game. 

As part of the game, students received (a virtual) $50,000 they could invest over a 10-week period, in 220 companies listed on the ASX. 

The prices students bought and sold at were the same prices as they get in the live market so this is as close to real life share trading as you can get! 

The final day for trading was Wednesday 4 November. Once the Sharemarket closed, so did the game. 

Of those who were active participants, Jessica Earle (Year 9), topped the Kilbreda College Ladder with a final portfolio value of $50,442.35 (profit of $442.35). This placed Jessica 1,052nd in the state and 4,748th in the overall game. What a great effort given our current climate and the effects of COVID-19 on the Sharemarket!

On 11 March 2021, the 'ASX Sharemarket Trading' game will start again and we hope more students will take part and learn more about the Sharemarket and buying and selling shares.
