Stage 3 Sport

This term Year 5 & 6 will participate in a variety of activities such as Tribes & Territories, Volleyball, Small Games, Continuous Cricket. Students will also go bushwalking to Goonoowigall. In Week 3, 5/6W & 5/6S will go, and 5/6B & 5/6GD will go in Week 5. After this, students will participate in a swimming program for 4 weeks at the Inverell Pool.

Stage 2 Swimming

This is the final week of the Stage 2 swimming Sports program. All children have shown improvement in their water confidence, stroke development, water safety procedures, rescues and general participation in water activities. Students will travel to the pool by bus again this week from 1:50pm – 3:00pm. If your child has any outstanding IOU’s please finalise these this week. Cost is $3.40 each week for pool entry (season passes may be used, but students will need to bring these with them each week).

Year 1 Swimming

As part of the Year 1 Physical Education program, we are taking all Year 1 children to the Town Pool to develop water confidence, stroke development and participate in water activities. Students have been grouped according to their ability and are enjoying their weekly swimming session each Thursday. A reminder to please make sure all of your child’s equipment and clothing is clearly labelled with their name.

Diocesan Touch & Netball Gala Day

We wish our Year 5 & 6 students who are off to Tamworth next Friday for a Gala Day in Touch and Netball. It is very exciting, as this is one of the very few activities that has been able to go ahead this year due to Covid-19. There are 3 touch teams and one netball team. A big thank you to Mr Baz, Mrs Stewart and Miss Gartshore for training the children. Students will travel by bus to Tamworth and leave at 5:45am from the Tourist Information Centre. The day will conclude at approximately 2:30pm where students will be transported back to Inverell. Unfortunately, parents are not permitted to attend or be on the grounds due to Covid-19 restrictions. All money ($30.00) and notes need to be returned to school ASAP. There will be no canteen operating on the day. Please make sure your child has plenty of water and snacks to get them through the day. Children should be in full school sports uniform and have a hat and sunscreen.

• Stage 3 swimming starts – Friday 20 November (4 Weeks)

• Diocesan Touch Carnival, Tamworth – Friday 20 November

• Diocesan Basketball & Tennis Trials, Tamworth (selected Year 5 students only) – Friday 4 December
