PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Mrs Jillian Rainger

Welcome to Week 5!

I am not sure about you but I can't believe it is already Week 5. This term is flying by! This week we celebrate NAIDOC week and Remembrance Day. Both events are being celebrated in our classrooms. We also continue to welcome our Kindergarten students for next year. This Wednesday our Family Information Sessions will be delivered by ZOOM rather than onsite. Thanks to our new families for following our COVID 19 guidelines. On Friday we will have our first of three Year 6 to 7 transitions.  Students will have a talk and tour of the secondary department and new students will join us for the day to get to know their future classmates.

Next week we will be interviewing for teaching staff for 2021, as well as reporting on our achievements with our Annual Improvement Plan to the CSO. The week ends with our Year 10 final assembly. The year is coming to the end!

Around the school

Mr Brett Higgins and Mrs Cherie Felton are our team who keep our grounds neat and tidy. They both also work in other parts of the school. Cherie works in the morning in the Front Office. Brett works in our secondary Technology classes as an Education Assistant. We are lucky to have such dedicated staff!

Learning @ HTS

This week and next see our Secondary students complete their final assessments. The students have exams in a number of subjects. We wish them well!

Over the last four weeks our Facebook page has highlighted the learning of our students in Early Stage 1, Stage 1, 2 and 3. This week and next the focus will be on Stage 4 and 5. The students at our school work hard and we are proud of their achievements.
