Term 4 Week 7

Hello everyone. Welcome to Week 7 of Term 4. We are over the halfway point of the term, the end of the year is quickly approaching. The weather sure is warming up so we have a couple of reminders for all students:

  • Bring your water bottle to school every day and to each PE lesson.
  • Wear your hat during Recess and Lunch and when outside doing PE or other activities.
  • You may wish to apply sunscreen for outside activities. Please apply it before school and not during Learning Time.

This Term has been our return to onsite learning which has been amazing for our Physical Education lessons. The students have been able to participate in shared experiences in small group and larger team activities.

So far this term the Students from Foundation and Years One and Two have been developing and refining throwing and catching skills. Throwing both over arm and underarm and throwing balls and beanbags at and into targets.

They have also been enhancing their foot work skills with kicking, dribbling and trapping. The students have used a range of soft balls and soccer balls to build more confidence in keeping control of the ball and developing their kicking accuracy.

The Students from Years Three and Four and Years Five and Six have been engaged in developing their footwork and passing skills for netball, soccer dribbling, kicking and trapping and general health and fitness education.

By participating in drills, small group and larger team activities, the students have been able to collaborate with and compete against each other to develop their game sense while enhancing their skills.

As the term progresses our focus will be on all students developing and reinforcing their striking skills and further improving their ability to cooperate effectively while participating in minor games.

Reminders:

  • Students must bring a signed note from home to be excused from participating in PE classes/activities.
  • Hats and drink bottles are a must.
  • Encourage students to return sports equipment at the end of recess and lunch. If you see an item left out and you didn’t use it, it would show great pride and character if you picked it up and returned it anyway.

Enjoy the rest of this term, enjoy the increasing sunshine and warmer weather.

Stay active and stay safe.

Best Wishes. Warmest Regards.

Katherine and Rick.
