IGSSA Regatta 1

The first Independant Girls Schools Association (IGSSA) regatta for 2017, was, in the eyes of the dedicated winter rowers of John XXIII College a great success. The first regatta for the season is always quite nerve-racking, but the strong friendships that have formed between the girls already made the day fun and enjoyable for them all.

Despite the competition being quite fierce this year, I would like to congratulate, Holly Griffiths who managed to place third in the Senior B Division Single Scull, Mia Fracaro on her unbelievable second place finish in the Junior A Division Single Scull and all the other girls, especially to the Year 9s and those who started rowing this year on a very impressive first IGSSA regatta.

We are excited and enthusiastic to develop our rowing skills further over the coming season, as our strong and admirable competitive natures begin to shine through. Overall, we are looking forward to competing again and putting our skills and fitness to the test at Regatta two, hosted by John XXIII College at Canning Bridge.  Racing is from 8:30-12:00pm, come down grab a coffee from the John XXIII coffee stand and support our girls.
