NAS (Northern Associated School) Sport

NAS trials are currently underway for Term 1, summer sports, from Years 7 to 12. A schedule of NAS trials can be viewed via the below pdf, or on the sport section of the College calendar. Once trials and teams are finalised students and parents will receive information, fixtures and venues for the term.

NAS fixtures begin week 4 on Monday February 25. Training will be organised by teacher in charge of the team. A draft copy of the fixtures will be published on the College website soon.

Interhouse Swimming Carnival - Friday 22 February.

The Interhouse Swimming Carnival will be held at HBF Stadium, Mt Claremont on Friday 22 February.

Students are asked to make their own way to the venue and must be seated in House groups in the stadium no later than 8.20am. At this time attendance will be taken in Homeroom groups.

Students are asked to enter the stadium via the McGillivray Rd (eastern) side of the complex. As this event is considered a ‘Special Events Day’ attendance is essential (see the student diary for further information).

The carnival will conclude at approximately 3.00pm. Management has requested that parents do not use the roundabout area as a pick-up point and that the reception area is to remain clear.

As Kiosk facilities and vending machines are not available, it is essential that all students bring a packed lunch and drink to sustain them for the day.

All students are to wear full Sport Uniform (including their hat) with their House shirt, rash vest and College bathers/shorts ready to participate. Students must wear College bathers/shorts when competing and failure to do so will result in dismissal from the event.

Students unable to participate must supply a note from their parent/guardian and notify their House Coordinator. These students may be asked to assist with other roles throughout the day.

We would be delighted to see parents in attendance at the carnival. An area will be designated for spectator seating in the main grandstand. Please be aware that HBF Stadium will require you to pay a ‘spectator fee’. The first event will commence at 9.00am. A copy of the program will be available on the College website in week 3.

Congratulations - sporting achievements of our students

Congratulations to Millie Monaghan and Olivia Purnell who represented WA at the under 18 cricket carnival. Millie captained the team.

Congratulations to Hayley Jahn  who played in the Australian Futsal Association National Championship in Sydney in January. She played in both the junior competition for the WA under 16s team and in the senior competition in the Youth Women’s team (under 20s). The under 16s made it through to the semi finals but unfortunately lost. The Youth Women won the championship for their age category - it’s the first time a WA team has ever won the National Championship for the Youth Women’s age group.

Congratulations to Lucy Gleghorn who competed in the under 16 heptathlon Athletics WA championship  in January and qualified for Nationals. Lucy is the only athlete that will represent WA in the U16 girls age group. She also recently won the Little Athletics U15  girls heptathlon and has qualified for the State team for little athletics, for the U15 age group in multi events.

Congratulations also to Aaron de Longville, who is a passionate sailor.  Over the Christmas break he competed in the Australian WASZP Nationals and the World WASZP Titles. He did extremely well where he was fortunate enough to place Australian Junior National Champion in the WASZP Nationals,

and in Worlds placed 10th in the Open division and and 2nd in the world in the U21 division.  Aaron is off to compete in the Victorian State Championships between the 28 February and  1 March. We wish him luck at this upcoming Interstate regatta.
