Year 8 Survivor Day

On Friday 2nd Of November year 8 students ventured out to Lake Wyangan to participate in “Survivor Day”. The emphasis of this day is to promote teamwork and build relationships amongst each homeroom group.

The day started with a song/dance contest. It was clear that there are some extremely clever and creative students who were responsible for the amazing song and dance routines. Special mention should go to The Lawless Lions of 8.2.

The day progressed with a tug o war, which saw the Power Ranger Mega Sparkes 8.3 come out victorious, even with some illegal interference from some teachers.  Next was the relay course where, The Red Rockets 8.1 showed their supreme athletic ability by smashing all competitors.

The final event was the Amazing Race, where teams were tied together and used clues to find puzzle pieces located around the lake. Again the Lions and Blue Diamonds excelled here.

The weather was very hot and dusty but the students showed great resilience and powered on through the day. The sprinklers were definitely a welcome relief.

The students discovered that it isn’t easy to work as a team, and that cooperation and collaboration are just a couple of the key elements required to succeed as a team.

A big thank you to the Homeroom teachers and Aquatic Centre staff for assisting with such a successful day.
