School Education Board

It’s hard to believe that winter is around the corner and we are fast approaching the half way mark of our school year.

The School Education Board (SEB) have met twice this year with a further 5 meetings scheduled for 2017.

As previously communicated, the SEB works to a set of objectives which guide the direction for our work and efforts and enable us to measure our progress and achievements.

I have attached the 2017 SEB Objectives for your information.

You would also be aware that a Subcommittee of the SEB has been working on the Master Plan and the grants submission to fund it.

To that end, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Pauline Semmens (Staff), Debra Butcher, Peter Doyle & Cameron Sinclair (Parents) who have each provided sound advice and tremendous input to this important project for our School.  We will keep you posted on the progress of our Master Plan and are happy to answer any questions you might have about it.

I would also like to acknowledge the leadership provided by our Deputy Principals, Amy Burns and Danielle Gerecke in the last weeks of Term 1.

Their dedication, team work and support of the School in Simon’s absence was a blessing and testament to their well deserved promotions to this role.

On behalf of the SEB, I would like to sincerely thank Michelle McCormack for her service to our country and her service to our School for our Anzac Day Assembly.

It is so important that we pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to provide the freedom we enjoy today and that our children can connect with and learn about this in such a meaningful and heartfelt way.  We are lucky that you are a part of our parent community Michelle.  Thank you.

And finally, I would also like to acknowledge and thank Helen Di Natale.  Helen is a Classroom Rep for 2C and recently led a wonderful initiative to support a family within the school with meals, hampers, gifts and support.  This was such a wonderful gesture and tricky to coordinate but greatly appreciated.  We are grateful that you are a part of our parent community. Thank you Helen.

The School Education Board intend to regularly acknowledge and celebrate the individual and collective efforts of our School Community.  Please let us know if there is anyone who you believe deserves this recognition.  We’d love to hear from you.

Best,

Donna McMaster
