Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems

In English the teachers will be using the Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems to determine students' reading levels, teachers are able to observe student reading behaviours one-on-one, engage in comprehension conversations and make informed decisions that connect assessment to instruction.

The Fountas & Pinnell Benchmark Assessment Systems provide teachers with precise tools and texts to observe and quantify specific reading behaviours, and then interpret and use that data to plan meaningful instruction.

Teachers will identify each student’s reading level during this one-on-one, student-teacher assessment conference.

Teachers will be testing their students using this system in the coming weeks.
