Message from Liz

As we reflect on the year that was 2022, we should be proud of all that we have achieved.

  • Term 1 - COVID outbreak
  • Term 2 - Staff shortages
  • Term 3 - Some sense of normal for all
  • Term 4 - Flood

2022 seemed like the never ending packet of Tim Tams - for those that don’t know, from 14 October until just recently, we had a box of Tim Tams in the office that was constantly full. We weren’t letting anything else in!!!

Doing it together - being better together is something that is very important. It is a way to build community and confidence in our mission.

We have so much to celebrate in 2022:

  • PnF lunches and events
  • Fundraisers - Charity Ball, First Tractor Pull, Field Days, Deb Ball - our big ticket items.
  • Activity Days
  • Sporting Events
  • Attendance at community events where possible
  • Grade 5/6 attendance at the Northern Plains Student Conference

We finish the year as the 'travelling school' after 30 school days of bus travel!

  • 2700 minutes of bus travel for our middle senior students
  • 900 minutes of bus travel for our junior students

We have stuck together, communicated, supported each other and learnt from each other. Every day presented new challenges and new learnings. We have been the recipients of such generosity.

Thank you to:

  • Our supporters - parents, families and the community
  • Catholic Education Sandhurst - Paul Desmond and team. We have had a huge number of people working with and for us
  • OLSH and CMC - Craig Simpson and Brian Turner - opened their arms and schools so we have a place to learn
  • Builders and restorers - they have moved mountains to provide us with classrooms for 2023. Special mention to Adam Mundie, Brendon Gundry and Mick Barry
  • The schools and communities that have reached out to us! The gift packs and donations for our children and staff have been gratefully received
  • Teachers - their work space has been mobile, for some the way they taught had to change for the collaborative working space.

So for the final time in 2022, please remember that:

WE ARE PEOPLE OF STRENGTH & WE ARE PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation and confidence in 2022. We will be back in 2023,  so come and learn with us!

We wish our 2022 Grade 6 leaders all the best as they prepare to continue their learning journey at Secondary School. We know they will be PEOPLE OF STRENGTH & PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.

Take care during this summer break.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas as you gather with your special people.
