Firstly, a big warm welcome to our year 7 students and their families for 2023. Day 1 was full of excitement and nervousness as the students found their way to our College, it started off reasonably quiet as the students arrived but as the numbers grew the students started to converse with each other and already some great friendships have formed. We have spoken to a couple of students who said they made a new friend in the first 30 seconds as they both share the same love for fishing! It has been great that we have been able to welcome the students into part of the new year 7 area with the next section hopefully available to us early next week. Students have now started to get into the swing of attending several classes across the day.

Thank you to all the families that have organised their students uniform. Uniform has been a stand out amongst the group.

Feedback from students has been positive as most are enjoying the opportunities different classes bring. We have seen lots of smiles throughout the group which is great to see as they start their journey at Bairnsdale Secondary College.

Keep an eye out on upcoming dates as we will be seeking feedback from families about our year 7 transition and how your students have felt coming to secondary school. We will also be enjoying our swimming carnival next Thursday, please make sure to log on to Compass App and sign the permission form so that this event can be a highlight.

We look forward to seeing what the students achieve this year. We are looking forward to celebrating their achievements as well as be available when they need that little bit of extra support.
