Music

The music department has had a very smooth return this year with students managing the new timetable very well.  Lessons and ensemble rehearsals are all up and running (except for the new ensembles) and it is great to be back together after the break, making music.

We welcome Mrs Sarah Caddie to the team this year as our new brass teacher and she has already settled in and is proving to be a great asset to the music team. We also have Ms Alexandra Orr teaching strings for a whole day this year.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Callum Ingram and James Caddie. Both finished school last year and were accepted into the Melbourne University to study Music. It is exciting to see students finding pathways in music and the first time two students have been accepted into Melbourne Uni in the same year. We wish them both all the best with their studies and look forward to seeing what they achieve in the future.

New Students

We are looking forward to all new students starting next week. If anyone missed the information evening on Wednesday, they can pick up an enrolment form from the Music Centre or Year 7 Hub. Once students return an enrolment form they will receive an offer of acceptance with a lesson agreement form and hire form to be returned. Students will be allocated a class and the time will pop up on Compass. The hire form needs to be returned before instruments can be taken home.

Recruitment

All year 7 students attended an information session in the music centre on Wednesday morning. Students met the staff, and were able to find out a bit about how the music program runs and hopefully feel encouraged to sign up to lessons and ensemble.

Any questions about the Instrumental Music Program can be directed to Mrs Kim Green in the music centre (Monday-Thursday)
