Wellbeing and Inclusion

I CAN Network

Rollins has paired with the I CAN Network to introduce a mentoring program at our school. The I CAN Imagination Club® is for students who have learning differences and/or experience social anxiety.

Invited students take part because of their ‘big imaginations’. I CAN Imagination Club® offers a safe, engaging environment where students are encouraged to recognise and celebrate their own strengths. Each session is designed to support students in developing optimism, belonging, confidence and resilience. We look forward to offering this program to more students each year of our journey with ICAN.

The Resilience Project

We are a proud Resilience Project Partner School. We deliver their emotionally engaging program and provide evidence based, practical strategies to build resilience throughout our school community. The program focuses on three positive mental health strategies: Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness.

They are a great way to facilitate positive conversations as your family share some at either in the morning, afternoon or evening or at a time that works best. Check out some great GEM CHAT questions here:

●What were three things that went well for you today?

●Who is someone you feel really grateful for today? Tell us why.

●What is it about our home that makes it our home/special family place?

●What is something you are looking forward to tomorrow?

Respectful Relationship Commitment

Rollins Primary School is a partner school in The Respectful Relationships Program. The Respectful Relationships Program involves a whole school approach and requires the support and involvement of students, parents, families and staff.

Across years P-6, students take part in teaching and learning that focuses on each of the following eight topics:

– Emotional Literacy

– Personal Strengths

– Positive Coping

– Problem Solving

– Stress Management

– Help Seeking

– Gender and Identity

– Positive Gender Relationships

The Respectful Relationships curriculum has strong links to many other areas of the curriculum including English, Ethical Capabilities and Health and Physical Education.

Students at Rollins Primary School respond positively to the program and, it is the aim that each student leaves us with a solid understanding of what a respectful relationship looks and feels like. We also aim for students to understand their rights and responsibilities, have recognition and acceptance that everyone is unique and identify the personal strengths that they possess. In addition, it is expected, that as part of this program, students learn strategies they can implement to help cope with difficult situations and to know what support is available should it be required
