Principal's Report

Dear Families,

CAMP

Last week our Grade 3/4 students participated in their camp to Kyneton. We must thank the students for giving the activities a go! Mrs Kennedy jumped on at the last minute to save the day. As mentioned after the Grade 5/6 camp, these activities do not operate without teachers being willing to attend. The students were able to test their limits and learnt some valuable independence skills.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

Tonight is the last School Council meeting of the year. We must thank Simon Robinson for his year as School Council President. The council has continued to examine policies and have us prepared for a school review in 2023. Nominations for next year will be open soon. If you are keen to get involved please contact the office.

REPORTS

Our teachers are busy writing their end of year reports. This is a thorough process and one that we hope accurately displays the progress of the students. Our students have spent some time working through end of year testing to give the teachers data to inform their decision making. This process allows us to be confident in our teacher judgement.

FUN SPORTS

Tomorrow is our Fun Sports Day. Please come along to see the kids having a great time in teamwork games. Students will be participating in their houses in multi-age groups. The aim of the day is to work together and have fun! Our Grade 6 leaders have worked with the grades through the week to ensure they are prepared for each game.

PLC SUMMIT

I have had the pleasure of being involved in the Professional Learning Communities Summit over the last two days. Toolamba PS is a Link School, a school that works with other schools in our region to help their teams improve the ways that their teachers work together for their students. A highlight of the summit was being able to share our success with other teachers.

NAPLAN RESULTS

It was nice to see our school listed in a Herald Sun article stating that our students are performing very well academically over the last five years. These accolades are nice and allow us to celebrate our teaching and learning success that has stemmed from teamwork and a continual improvement focus.

CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Natasha, Tate and Mila on their new arrival last Friday. Mila was a very proud big sister when showing her classmates a photo of Rose (Rosie) Estelle.

I’ll see you at the Fun Sports,

Craig Thompson
