Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2022

Year 6 Graduating Class of 2022

On Wednesday night the Graduating Class of 2022 was celebrated with families, parents, and friends.

A brilliant evening started with the School Captains sharing their parting speeches, a message from Michael Sukkar to present the Deakin Shield, and the McCutcheon Award announced by Miss Roberts.

The audience was entertained as the students shared their thoughts and reflections about their fellow classmates, sharing highlights, character strengths and memorable moments. The best part was hearing the students heartfelt congratulations and well wishes for each other.

Academic excellence awards in all subject areas followed, with robust applause for each worthy candidate as they excitedly accepted their shields.

If that wasn’t enough the Graduating Class then came together to sing the song, ‘Seven Years’, an emotional performance with soloists and the class coming together as one. Delicious food and a disco topped off the evening.

A big thank you to the parents and staff who assisted with the organisation of decorations and the delicious food including a cake and cupcakes for the whole crew.

And so, it is time to say good-bye.  I have loved the laughs, the chats, and seeing you grow Year 6, 2022.  Camp was a highlight this year, not the canoe capsizing or the magpies swooping, but I loved the chance to see many of you in your true light, being yourselves out of the classroom constraints. You have so much to offer to your new secondary schools.

Take our best wishes with you, our affection, and hopefully something of the lessons we have tried to impart to you.

Good Luck

Welcome to the Team

Alisha Clark

Alisha Clark has been a student teacher with us and in 2022 has also taken on some casual relief positions in various Year levels at GRPS.

Rhiannon Hamilton

Rhiannon has been teaching in London for the last 4 years.

If her face looks familiar, Rhiannon was a student teacher at GRPS in 2018.

Toni Buccella is joining our fantastic ES team to help support our students across the school in 2023.

An official welcome back to GRPS for Emma Beddome and Jessica Akaruru. Although they have been around the school this year, they will be returning to the Year 5&6 Team for 2023.

We are also excited to announce Jeslyn Sia will be returning to teach Indonesian in 2023.

Farewell

Farewell to Kim Dagher who has been one of our wonderful ES staff in 2022.

Thank you for your work with the Year 3 Team and for supporting our students this year. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Sharon Jacobs with her appointment as the

Acting Principal of  Marlborough Primary School for Term 1, 2023.

We know you will do a wonderful job and wish you the very best in your new role.

We are very lucky to have Helen Abbott taking the role for Term 1. Many of you already know Helen as she has been a regular at the school doing various roles, and was a substantive teacher at GRPS for 20 Years.

Goodbye to our families who have decided to take a sea change or move to a new home.

Farewell to our families who are seeing their youngest graduate from GRPS.

We will miss your presence around the school and thank you for your support and encouragement.

Have a Merry Christmas with your nearest and dearest.

I look forward to spending time with daughters and extended family.

A book by the pool with a cool drink, is just what the doctor ordered.

Warmest regards,

Karen Rouda
