Principal's Message
Term 4 Week 10 2022
It's that time of year again! On Tuesday December 6th we will be hosting our 2022 Christmas Concert on the oval. There will be a Sausage Sizzle run by P&F from 5pm - 6pm with the concert beginning outside the Art Room at 6pm. Families are welcome to bring a picnic and set up on the oval facing the Art Room. We look forward to celebrating this time with you. Any changes to this event will be communicated via Sentral.
This week all classroom teachers have their Planning Day for 2023. Students have their Specialist classes all on one day allowing the 2023 classroom teachers from each Learning Centre be released to develop plans for the year and in particular Term 1, 2023. Specialist teachers will have their planning days across this week and next.
Students are briefed around the agenda for the day and understand that they will not see their classroom teacher on this day.
Next Week is Step Up Week. Last week classes were finalised and teachers met to give a detailed handover to each other. Students will again be briefed on the structure of Step Up week but a summary is below:
Huge shout out to our Cassie Brisbane for all of her coordination of the Bike Ed program. Cassie also made sure we had access to a number of bikes form Monash Council to support students who didn't have their own bike. Although I understand there are a lot of requests for wheels for Christmas! Thank you to all of the 5/6 teachers and Mr Andrew Shaw for all their help with the Bike education program and also so to Michael Rogan and Yatiesh Kumar for assisting Year 6 students on their road ride. Such a valuable experience in supporting our students to develop increased awareness around their bike riding and road use.
The weather finally cleared up at the end of last week, and the 3/4 students were able to test out the solar ovens that they had constructed in Science sessions with a delicious treat of Smores on Friday. Thank you to 3/4M for sharing at assembly about Smores and their solar ovens. I even got have a taste... thankyou 3/4M.
It’s back and we want to say thank you!
On Friday December 9th we will be hosting our annual Volunteers ‘Thank You’ Morning Tea. This event is an important one for staff at our school to show appreciation and thanks to all the people who have volunteered and contributed to events throughout 2022. Formal invitations have been sent home to families. We may miss someone so please make sure you come along so that we can say a big thank you to our volunteers and parent helpers.
Congratulations P&F the Book Stall, Sausage Sizzle and Tasty Treats Stall raised an incredible $4210. Thank you again to Flip and her band of volunteers for all their work before and on the day.
Stay home when unwell
The most important action school communities can take to reduce the risk of transmission of illnesses, is to ensure that any unwell staff and students remain at home, even with the mildest of symptoms.
