Budja:
It was an amazing week with our Budja class! There's something so magical about the end of year and Christmas when you get to celebrate with four and five year olds!
We had a very busy week of craft and art, the children are exploring and representing their ideas and skills in these areas. We used salt dough and Christmas cutters to create decorations, painting and adding layers of glitter paint.
The children also made and decorated their our Art bags, stapling large easel paper together and then drawing and designing them. This process was incredible in supporting children to develop delayed gratification skills as well as to work out the processing and planning skills we have been developing all year.
The children were also very focused as they engaged with construction, in working to create a mound of sand and a tunnel through it and they especially enjoyed watching the Foundation children from the top of the fort as they had a visit from a fire engine.
We are making the most of the last few days of Kinder and reflecting on all the incredible moments and learning that we have experienced.

Marram:
This week at kindergarten we started thinking ahead to the party we will be having in class on our last day on Term 4. We want to celebrate a truly amazing year of learning and fun. But we wondered - what is a party?! Children had lots of ideas: you invite your friends to parties, you turn the music on and dance, you eat cake! We also asked the children - what will we need for our party? The children thought we would need: guests, party clothes, a piñata and party food.
The children also thought that decorations are needed at parties. So this week we started working on some paper chains to use for the party. It's quite an involved process - cutting, bending and stapling rings of paper.
The children’s focus, persistence and enthusiasm was fantastic to observe. We have got quite a long length going already! Elsewhere in the room, there is glitter everywhere as the children continue exploring the concept of Christmas through craft!

Wimbi:
This week in Wimbi we have continued to explore the concept of Christmas. We read a book together, ‘The Night Before Christmas’ and children shared their ideas and experiences of how this time of year is celebrated in their homes.
The children are also demonstrating their learning in their collaborative play skills, especially outside where they negotiate the sharing of popular resources such as the swings, slide and sandpit. We are seeing skills such as turn taking, teamwork and following rules on display. We very proud of their increasing competency in this area!
Theresa and Kristy.

We had a practice whole school evacuation on Friday morning.
